Job Description:

Position: Project Manager (Industrial Gearbox and Gear Drive Service and Repair)

The Project Manager for Industrial Gearbox and Gear Drive Service and Repair will coordinate projects of varying scope and complexity. He or she will coordinate the efforts of internal departments and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products within budget, and that meet or exceed our customer's needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates project management activities with the Engineering, Sales, Purchasing and Manufacturing functions to ensure that production requirements are achievable, and facilitate the successful completion of quality approval, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison between Estimating, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to ensure BOM requirements are delivered in a timely manner prior to assembly start dates.
  • Serves as the customer's point of contact through the planning and production process.
  • Provides senior management with monthly revenue data while monitoring project progress in terms of times, costs, and quality.
  • Monitors project progress and manages through any issues that may arise.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Creates and distributes Gantt Charts per customer requests.
  • In charge of setting final ship dates for assembly jobs based on maintaining an assembly schedule and the current departmental resource availability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related field; may consider relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge and experience in power transmissions and manufacturing processes desirable.
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery.
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management tools (i.e., ERP).
  • Flexible enough to cope with changing priorities and workloads and demanding schedules as well as to be willing to work in both a plant and office environment.
  • Able to travel to customer/user sites.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Able to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job with or without accommodation.
