CTG has been confidentially retained by a middle market Private Equity Firm to fill a COO position for one of their fast growing portfolio companies. They are looking to find a strong operational executive who can lead them into their next phase of growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong operations background and experience leading a team of executives including layers of VPs. The portfolio company has 15 people on the operations team with 6 Managers/Directors reporting directly into this role. The right candidate will be able to sell and build relationships both internally and externally, manage the pre-existing relationships with clients and help to streamline the operations to run like a smooth oiled machine. The role will be focused on continuously solving problems and providing vision and strategy to spearhead growth. This individual must have the ability to review financials and provide strategic vision in partnership with the CFO.
The COO will have a broad set of responsibilities including but not limited to:
Helping design and lead the development of goals, objectives, plans, and policies to optimize the growth the company
Effectively direct and contribute to the strategic planning process by working with the executive management team
Balancing the desire for growth with the responsibility to achieve goals amidst rapid change.
Working closely with legal, HR, finance, and operations to support the growth initiatives of the company while ensuring compliance with industry and legal best practices.
Representing the company and its PE sponsor and its operations in public and community forums and in professional associations.
Owning and driving organizational short and long range operational objectives.
Driving programs and activities to promote a positive environment of engagement and professionalism, and achievement of the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Facilitating a clear and open dialog regarding core values to internal staff and external constituents.
Creating and executing plans that promote quality, service, and growth with an eye towards efficiencies and synergies
Creating a culture and environment that attracts, motivates, develops, and retains qualified team members
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. MBA preferred and executive certifications a plus
10+ years of experience with at least one in an executive capacity. Experience working with PE portfolio companies a plus
Strategic planning and business development experience
Strong written and verbal and presentation skills
Excellent Leadership and organizational skills
Demonstrated history of problem solving and effectively leading organizations and people through periods of growth
