We are inviting you to apply for our open Assistant Facilities Director role.In this growth position, you will support the facilities director in the management and operations maintenance technicians, who are responsible for guest room and overall facility to keep the property safe, functional, and cosmetically appealing.

The facilities team includes general maintenance technicians, multiple trades people (carpenters, electricians, etc.), a grounds team, and other support personnel. The teams would be managed daily by the Facility Director, and you would serve as support. Your primary responsibility would be to manage the general maintenance technicians daily, but as the effective second in command, would manage the entire department when the Facility Director is not present.

Primary daily responsibilities would include keeping the maintenance technicians organized as they go about responding to various maintenance issues throughout the day as well as working to complete various projects around the property. You would also manage a team of technicians that is dedicated solely to performing preventative maintenance in the guest rooms to keep them always at the highest standards. Other responsibilities may include being a point of contact for outside contractors/vendors, managing a preventative maintenance program, participating in manager meetings with other department managers and assisting with capital planning.

Expect to work a minimum of 50 hours per week in this role. Nights and weekends are required, and you may be on call 24 hours a day for emergencies. The resort is large, and we expect you to spend a lot of time on your feet moving throughout the property. We expect that you want continued growth in your career, including advancing into a director or corporate position.

We require that you have a background, consisting of (an):
  • Previous assistant or director at a large facility
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and multiple projects
  • Leadership, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of construction materials, reading blueprints and/or plans
  • Strong organizational skills including use of a digital work order system
  • Knowledge of technology related to managing system
  • Previous experience in a hospitality environment of 300 rooms or more is desired
