Recommends/develops/implements/maintains Lakeview Farms' Environmental, Health and Safety Program; ensures compliance with Company and regulatory policies/procedures/rules, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage the implementation and maintenance of safety programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.
Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained.
Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs.
Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices.
Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water and surface water discharge.
Ensure the company meets all its legislative compliance obligations with OSHA, EPA, and fire codes.
Serve as primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, reporting (air, water, waste).
Maintain compliance with permits, government regulations and other industry practices.
Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization.
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
Develop or maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, or ventilation surveys.
Collaborate with engineers or physicians to institute control or remedial measures for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
Develop or maintain medical monitoring programs for employees.
Coordinate "right-to-know" programs regarding hazardous chemicals or other substances.
Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures.
Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies.
Maintain inventories of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly.
