The ideal candidate for this role will have experience as both a Controls Engineer and a Process/Manufacturing Engineer as a firm understanding of PLCs is necessary.
Adapting PLC, MMI Robotics, and Drive Programs for new projects, as well as updating existing machinery programs as needed.
Contributing to the development and maintenance of equipment standards.
Implementing modifications to robots, weld-controllers, and networks for our machinery.
Managing the transition of equipment from concept to installation for new programs, and adjusting existing programs in response to engineering changes.
Generating procurement information for the purchasing department to streamline the acquisition process.
Developing training materials for operators and maintenance staff regarding VR-developed machinery.
Collaborating with vendors and overseeing the progress of equipment procurement, from quotation to installation, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
Leveraging the expertise of cross-functional team members to ensure equipment meets cost, quality, reliability, and productivity targets.
Presenting recommendations to the Corporate Manufacturing Engineering Manager for final approval.
Coordinating equipment sample runs both internally and externally.
Supervising the electrical startup of our equipment.
Fulfilling other reasonable requests from management.
Upholding a safe, tidy, and conducive work environment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, through adherence to the 5S principles.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years experience in the automotive industry with exposure to building equipment, programmable logic control, electrical, robotics, etc.
Sound understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements
Working knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning processes
