The Quality Control Manager will oversee the Quality Laboratory and Quality Operations. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and provide leadership to a small team of Microbiologists and Quality Inspectors.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing.
Quality Control Operations:
Lead and manage Quality Control operations across a three-shift manufacturing operation.
Oversee and ensure the execution of testing activities related to raw materials, in-process production, and final release of finished products.
Regulatory Compliance:
Support and make critical decisions for the release of raw materials, in-process production, and final release of finished products in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on FDA and ISO-13485 regulations, ensuring the implementation of necessary changes in quality control processes.
Risk Identification and Resolution:
Identify potential risks associated with laboratory operations and implement proactive measures to mitigate these risks.
Lead teams to resolve quality issues, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Laboratory and Quality Operations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Implement best practices and stay informed about advancements in quality control and laboratory practices.
Operational Excellence:
Work hands-on in an operational capacity, ensuring that quality control processes align with operational goals and deadlines.
Demonstrate agility and flexibility in adapting to changes and pushing through challenges to achieve project completion.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of quality control management experience.
Demonstrated performance in quality, supervision, laboratory practices, microbiology, chemistry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of microbiology and expertise in Aseptic filling (a plus).
Previous experience in the pharmaceuticals or healthcare medical device industry.
Understanding of cGMP, FDA requirements, and ISO 13485 for manufacturing.
Results-driven with a focus on achieving operational excellence.
Assertive, willing to challenge the status quo, and drive process improvements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment and contribute to system implementations and process development.
