About The Role
January Digital is searching for a VP, Analytics to be our in-house media analytics expert. This role will report into our CEO and be responsible for building and governing a team while providing guidance and infrastructure that allows our business to scale. We're looking for a strategic business partner who enjoys taking ownership and responsibility for both our long term vision and team leadership to execute best-in-class data infrastructure and client analytics. This ideal team member will be both an entrepreneurial builder and an educator who can bring along a variety of business associates and clients into this vision. We are not seeking a data scientist, per say, but rather an analytics leader and business builder who is as comfortable speaking in front of a room as they are digging into data trends. This individual will lead a team comprised of data engineering, data visualization, and data analysts.
Responsibilities
Develop the short and long-term vision, goals, and measurement for the analytics organization.
Create forward thinking and industry leading analytics capabilities, offering our clients unparalleled insight into their customer trends, media metrics, and overall business drivers.
Further establish January Digital's data collection infrastructure including tools, processes, etc.
Further establish January Digital's proprietary analytics structure including methodologies, framework, techniques, KPIs, metrics, test & learn processes
Continuously evolve the analytics roadmap, with insight from clients and colleagues, and an eye for the future
Manage the analytics P&L for the company with a goal of long-term sustainability
Lead the conversation on analytics, data understanding and data action across our internal organization and directly with client contacts and the press
Lead a team of directors, managers and analysts in their career paths, including training, mentoring and career guidance
Develop trusted relationships and clear communications with internal stakeholders, executive team members and key contacts in client organizations
Build a scalable and repeatable system for delivering analytics to exceed client expectations
Create an organization that can conceptualize, create and implement best in class data understanding and measurement solutions
Effectively manage and inspire a cross-functional analytics team ranging from engineers, visualization artists, and data scientists
Actively participate in business development with our executive and business development director
Stay up to date on industry trends and deliver proactive thoughtful client- and industry-facing thought leadership about data understanding and analytics
Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure accuracy of data, technical infrastructure and implementation
Travel Requirements: Must be able and willing to travel between NY & Dallas offices and to client and other company meetings within the U.S., as needed.
Requirements
12+ years' experience in advertising effectiveness with a focus on consumer understanding, measurement and attribution
5+ years building and managing a data or analytics team
Extensive experience with website analytics tools (GA4 or Adobe Analytics) required
Extensive experience with business intelligence tools (Datorama, Looker, Tableau, Avora, R, etc.) required
Extensive experience with MMM, MTA, incrementality, and Brand Health solutions required
Extensive experience with Cloud based data warehousing (Snowflake, AWS, Big Query)
Understanding of data privacy constraints and regulations across global markets
Experience with statistical methods and vendors (regression, classification, supervised and unsupervised learning, etc.)
Extensive experience working with offline media and digital media data; Extensive experience with TV / Advanced TV a plus
Extensive experience within Retail and CPG in a marketing capacity strongly preferred.
Familiarity with media tagging and tag management solutions
Must have knowledge of 3rd party vendors and their measurement methodologies
Solid project management and organizational skills

January Digital is committed to providing our employees with flexible work options that allow them to balance their professional and personal responsibilities. As such, we offer a hybrid work policy that allows employees to divide their time between working in the office and working remotely. Under this policy, employees are required to work in either our Dallas or NYC office at least 5 days per month, however you are welcomed to come in as often as you'd like! These days will be determined by your manager and/or team.
The base salary range for this role in Dallas, TX is $175,000 - $195,000, depending on experience. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes a bi-annual performance bonus, free health insurance, annual wellness stipend, company 401k contribution, & more.
