I. Primary Function: The Superintendent-Asphalt directs activities of union and non-union workers engaged with asphalt lay down in construction of highways, runways, site development infrastructure or other heavy highway construction projects.
II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of asphalt lay down in the project
asphalt crews and equipment
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules on the basis of this review and communicates adjustments to the project manager.
Ensures all work progresses at a pace that maintains the schedule and owner milestones
work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
III. Additional Responsibilities:
and submit all project daily trucking logs and material summary tickets on a daily basis
and accurately enters time and quantities on a daily basis
and resolve complaints by field personnel

V. Mandatory Physical Requirements
be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
be able to stand up to 12 hours per day with breaks.
be able stoop and climb frequently.
be able to walk on uneven terrain frequently on job sites.
be able to drive a vehicle long distances frequently.
VI. Preferred Skills/ Knowledge:
MS Project, P6, Viewpoint and HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job
VII. Education Level / Required Certification:
Minimum 3 years asphalt paving experience; prior experience as asphalt paving foreman
VIII. Problem Solving: Must be able to resolve scheduling conflicts; work effectively with all levels of field personnel in order to successfully complete the project on time and on budget
