We are seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to join our dynamic team at WSG & Solutions, a leading engineering company specializing in the manufacturing of wastewater equipment. The Lead Estimator will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely estimation of project bids, managing the bidding process, and contributing to the overall success of our estimating process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, proven experience in project estimation, and excellent leadership skills.
Duties & Responsibilities of Lead Estimator:
Develop, update and maintain Design Configuration and cost estimating tools to deliver consistent and accurate project cost estimates efficiently.
Analyze project requirements, specifications, and drawings to determine accurate cost estimates.
Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and make recommendations for all aspects of project cost estimating.
Provide suggestions and options for system design and componentry to arrive at a total lowest cost bid compliant with customer specifications.
Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to optimize costs and enhance project efficiency.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to gather information, quotes and clarify project specifications.
Support proposal writing by providing draft language for the scope.
Interface with Technical Sales Engineers and other team members to explain estimates and techniques used to derive those estimates.
Manage multiple concurrent project cost estimates with short term and competing deadlines at any given time. Ensure all documentation (cost estimates, supporting information, assumptions, etc.) is organized and maintained in shared sales folders.
Support Aftermarket sales team as necessary.

Required Skills of Lead Estimator:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering (mechanical, civil, or environmental engineering)
3-5 years of experience in project estimation, preferably in the manufacturing or custom engineering sector involving electromechanical/ fluid systems equipment.
Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Advance MS Excel skills
Proficiency in estimating software and tools. Knowledge of AutoCad preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimating costs and quantities.
Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Can tolerate prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
