Lawyer.com is looking for an assistant controller with potential to grow into a senior management role.

Assistant Controller will:
report to the CEO and President
produce monthly financial statements using Quickbooks Online and Stripe Revenue reporting
generate payroll, commission and bonus payments via Insperity
recruit junior accounting and bookkeeping team as company grows
prepare projections and participate in management strategy discussions
assist in negotiating third party contracts, technology purchases and other big ticket items
work with department managers to develop accurate product reports, R&D target returns
work with tech, product, sales, operation and management to improve margins
Requirements Minimum Requirements:
Rigorous accounting qualifications and 2 years relevant experience
Highly analytical, able to extract actionable insights from diverse information sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for learning and mastering new skills
A strong sense of ownership and personal accountability
Enjoy fast moving start up environment
Team player interested in supporting junior employees and other departments
Interest in business strategy and product management
Short commute to Basking Ridge, NJ headquarters
U.S. citizen or work permit
Optional Requirements:
Knowledge of the legal services market
Experience in a technology start-up
Experience with business development, product development and marketing
Experience with recurring revenue/SaaS based businesses, deferred revenue and payment collections
Familiarity with SEO, SEM and other online marketing techniques.
