HIRING UP TO 2 POSITIONS Under general direction of a lead worker or supervision by departmental administrator performs highly skilled installation, repair, & preventive maintenance on air conditioning, refrigeration, & heating systems. Provides work direction, training & mentoring of lower-level air quality technicians and/or other trades workers performing craft duties. Established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Journey-level working knowledge of air conditioning & heating technology. * Skill in installation and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment. * Proficient use of personal computer and Windows operating system. * Read and write common vocabulary in sentence structure; * Add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers, calculate fractions, decimals and percentages; * Ability to apply principles to solve practical problems. * Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, and pictorial form. * Work independently or with others. * Demonstrate willingness to work with diverse populations. * Demonstrate dexterity and skill in use of craft-associated hand and/or power tools and equipment. * Knowledge of all applicable OSHA and/or Ohio University guidelines and procedures. * Work at heights; * Lift up to 50 lbs.; * An established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: * 48 months skilled experience in HVAC, refrigeration, controls, or equivalent. * EPA refrigerant handling certification. * Successful completion of any pertinent tests may be required. * Valid driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May be exposed to dirt, grease, odors, cramped conditions, extreme hot or cold temperatures, heights, and electrical hazards; may be exposed to dangerous machinery; confined spaces.
PAY RATE - AFSCME|08|Minimum hourly rate $23.66
SCHEDULE - Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Days off: Saturday & Sunday
