***Senior Director of Procurement***

COGS has partnered with a rapidly growing, multi Billion dollar Chemical Manufacturing Company servicing multiple global industries. Due to increased market demand, they are in growth mode and expanding! This has led to increased opportunities for career trajectory and hence they are looking for a senior director of procurement to oversee large spend with a headcount of over 20 people.

The salary for this position is up to 220K + 25% Bonus + 25% LTI based hybrid in Richmond, VA

Summary

Our client is looking for a talented Senior Director of Procurement to have a large amount of autonomy, taking ownership and provide leadership within their well-cultured and professional procurement function. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize cost savings, drive efficiency, and enhance supplier relationships across all areas of the business, utilising sophisticated supply chains built over several years. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional negotiation skills, a deep understanding of procurement best practices, and a proven track record of managing both direct and indirect spend categories, as well as managing people.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on cost reduction and operational excellence.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and prioritize procurement needs.
  • Oversee strategic sourcing for direct and indirect spend categories ranging from chemicals, MRO, HR, Legal and so on.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to optimize value while maintaining quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, driving collaboration and innovation.
  • Implement procurement systems to streamline operations and enhance visibility.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on procurement performance and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive procurement experience, 5 years in leadership, ideally in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful procurement strategies.
  • Strong negotiation & strategic sourcing experience skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical prowess and results-driven mindset.
