About the Role

Essity North America Health and Medical Solutions is currently seeking a Production Unit Manager who will provide leadership and direction in the manufacturing of wound care products while optimizing continuous production processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. The ideal candidate should live in the Manchester, CT area or is willing to commute.

What you will do


  • Facilitate the application of Global Manufacturing Excellence principles and tools (work instructions and procedures for safety, quality, CIL maintenance, etc.).


  • Ensure all wound care products are manufactured within current company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and/or relevant ISO standards.


  • Implements and revises written procedures related to manufacturing operations while actively participating in problem-solving initiatives.


  • Champion safety and quality across all production lines and shifts and assist in fostering a culture of accountability, care, and pride in daily operations.


  • Monitor production metrics to respond to and resolves issues at the source.


  • Coordinate maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed.


  • Coach operators in best practices to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems.


  • Tracks competencies of subordinates and provides leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.


  • Support ongoing development of operators by providing clear performance expectations, specific feedback on behaviors and effective coaching and mentorship.


  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Who you are


  • Combination of high school diploma or equivalent with relevant work history.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.


  • 5+ years of relevant experience (Manufacturing/Production Operations, Quality, Process Eng).


  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role.


  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.


  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 preferred.


  • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range $84,700 – $105,990 + annual incentive bonus + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors such as knowledge, skills, and experience.
