As a Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing key technical expertise and some leadership within the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Post Market Quality organization. This role is focused on understanding and improving product performance monitoring, issue management, and continuation engineering for the HVAD (Heartware Ventricular Assist Device).

The Mechanical Circulatory Support Operating Unit is responsible for Medtronic's heart pump program. Called the HeartWare™ HVAD™ System, this business provides a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) that helps patients' hearts pump and increases the amount of blood that circulates through their bodies. The HVAD System features the world's smallest, commercially available, centrifugal flow pump.

This position is in Mounds View, MN. within the Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) operating unit and requires on-site presence three days a week.

A Day in the Life

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Reliability Engineer II r ole. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Performs risk management and assess patient safety

• Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.

• Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes.

• Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.

• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.

• Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Engineering and/or Quality or advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field with 0 years of relevant work experience in Quality and/or Engineering

Nice to Have

• Engineering experience within the medical device industry

• Reliability engineering experience, including product performance modeling and trending

• Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis using statistical techniques and reliability tools.

• Project management and organizational skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills (timely, clear, concise, accurate, conclusive, influential, targeted to audience)

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.

Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary depending on job-relatedknowledge, skills, and experience .
