Senior Accountant - Fund Administration Group at Kforce Inc in Boston, Massachusetts

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in need of a Senior Accountant for their Fund Administration Group in Boston, MA. This client is one of the top Private Equity firms in the country, with offices globally. This role will work within a hybrid model, with 3 days in the office. Great work/life balance, annual bonuses. This role, reporting to the Fund Manager, encompasses the accounting and treasury operations for a designated subset of private equity funds.

Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

• Oversight of daily fund cash activity, including review of daily cash reconciliations, identifying and resolving any/all discrepancies


• Review and analyze transaction activity to determine appropriate accounting treatment and meticulously maintain books and records in accordance with established procedures


• Lead the quarterly close process for Fund Administration; Prepare preliminary US GAAP financial statements and footnotes while meticulously crafting supporting work papers


• Support capital calls and distributions, analyze capital account allocations, including investor excuse provisions, to determine precise allocation of such transactions


• Full ownership of the end-to-end wire transfer process, diligently facilitating fund investment activity and disbursing proceeds to investors; Exercise professional judgment and skepticism over wire instructions, ensuring proper callbacks and verifications are executed


• Review and assess inbound information requests from investors; Determine responsible party for resolution, advise on appropriate responses or coordinate a response directly


• Assist in overseeing and training staff accountants and Northeastern co-ops


• Take ownership of ad-hoc requests for information from management


• Assume responsibility for complex funds, including opt-out mechanics and the diligent monitoring of credit facility agreements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting


• 3-5 years of experience in public accounting (preferably in private equity or wealth management), a Fund Staff Accountant, or at a Third Party Administrator


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


• Attention to detail, ability to multitask and keep multiple parties up to date on progress


• Strong skills in working with Microsoft Office suite of products


• Ability to create clear and concise documentation and/or work papers to be relied upon by external auditors


• Team player with a strong focus on getting the job done within established time lines


• Desire to assist in training of new team members


• Experience working with Investran a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
