Position Summary | The Student Organization Advisor will work with a diverse portfolio of student organizations including groups whose missions focus on identity, culture, and social issues as well as academic and career aspirations. This position facilitates student learning, success, and retention by providing advising for up to fifty student organizations, which includes mentoring and coaching student leaders; supporting group and leadership development; providing fiscal and administrative oversight; mediating student group conflict; assessing student needs; and autonomously working towards and prioritizing goals and deadlines. Advisors participate in department-wide initiatives that support the mission such as events, training, policy development and assessment. Each staff person in the department is responsible for promoting and modeling teamwork and establishment of an inclusive, collaborative, service-oriented multicultural environment. |

Work Days/Hours | 40 hours per week. Scheduled hours can range from 7am to 7pm Mon-Fri; some evenings/nights and weekends required for supporting department and student events. |
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $54,684.
