Atlas is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Finance Team as a Payroll Analyst! The Payroll Analyst will assume responsibility for overseeing all facets of payroll operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll, as well as conducting account reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurately process employee payroll while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements, including tax laws and wage and hour regulations.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, resolving outstanding items including confidential payroll and benefits information.
  • Execute journal entries accurately and in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary data and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating the annual compensation and benefits plan.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of financial outcomes.
  • Offer recommendations for enhancing operational processes.
  • Analyze timecards meticulously to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate staffing and compensation reports for management, providing valuable insights into payroll and benefits trends.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee payroll inquiries.
  • Maintain state and local employment tax registrations for multistate organizations.
  • Actively participate in special projects and fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of payroll processing in a mid-large organization, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
  • Experience with payroll software and proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in understanding payroll processes, including wage calculations, tax regulations, and compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll data.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with employees, management, and external agencies.
  • Critical thinking skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
