Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Equipment Operator I operates all vineyard equipment

Responsibilities

• Operates vineyard tractors and other vineyard equipment, including forklifts, bobcats, tractors, backhoes, and loaders.




• Inspects equipment daily before operation and responsible for notifying Vineyard Supervisor/Foreman of routine maintenance and repairs needed. 




• Applies plant sprays following established safety procedures, and provides usage notes to supervisor for reporting purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of one year equipment operator experience.




• Ability to perform a variety of tasks using specified equipment safely and efficiently.




• Must have knowledge of safety requirements when operating and observe all safety pertaining to the equipment and implements being operated.




• Knowledge of basic mathematics (addition and subtraction).




• Ability to read and write.




• Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s value of exhibiting the highest quality standards in all endeavors.




• Willing and able to work overtime, irregular shifts, including graveyard, and long hours may be required, particularly during harvest. 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Must be able to stand, walk, sit




• Must be able to move up to 55 lbs




• Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms




• Climb or balance stairs/ladders




• Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear




• Work Environment:  Involves exposure to hazardous conditions - standing and walking for an extended period of time over rough terrain in a predominately outdoor environment; will be exposed to temperature fluctuations, insects, reptiles, equipment noise, dust, and at times chemicals and fertilizers.

The salary range for this role is:

$17.90 - $25.76

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
