The Lead Controls Engineer will support the designing, developing, and testing of network software applications and system configurations for production and test lab assets.
This position will assist in the on-time delivery in a team focused environment for the purpose of executing & setting hardware.
The Controls Engineering Leader will also work to troubleshoot and resolve network problems, and to improve the performance and efficiency of established networks.
In this role you will manage the orders cycling through the lab, and ensuring the proper time is allocated to the respective project. Job Responsibilities
Ability to understand networking concepts and protocols.
Ability to configure hardware and troubleshoot to provide solutions to complex hardware issues.
Advanced understanding of IP mapping, VPNs, routers, switches, etc. and how to configure them.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams to procure identified hardware/ licenses to support lab needs.
Ability to forecast and layout required components for testing needs.
Ability to navigate through a PLM system.
Experience with both Windows systems and Unix-like systems.
Ability to document system layouts, maintenance plans, etc.
Ability to create documentation, inclusive of, but not limited to:
Engineering test reports.
Test procedures.
Diagrams and schematics, with the support of a designer.
Provide timely communications about significant issues or developments.
Required Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical/ Controls/ Computer Engineering/ Electrical Technology from an accredited college or university.
3-5yrs of relevant technical/ applicable experience.
Capable of in reading electrical schematics and Network diagrams.
Proficient in command line interface for both Windows systems and Unix-like systems.
Capable of scheduling test activities.
Desired Characteristics:
Product knowledge of Oil and Gas Rigs, both Onshore and offshore.
Ability to work in a team environment on short- and long-term projects.

Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to sell the Architecture to key stakeholders.
Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
