Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of upstream and downstream bioprocessing operations, with a history of leadership experience in a cGMP setting. Candidate will provide hands-on support, while leading and mentoring a growing team of bioprocess associates. Candidate will be accountable for drafting or revising manufacturing procedures (batch records and SOP's), and supporting the Department head on matters of personnel development and performance management. An in depth understanding of cGMP compliance, Quality systems and an eye for continuous improvement will be essential for success.
The job duties require a high level of technical knowledge combined with a sense of urgency and responsibility to meet delivery schedules. Position level to be commensurate with candidates experience.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or relevant field with at least 7 year Biotech/Pharma bioprocess experience, with a minimum of 5 yrs in a cGMP setting and minimum of 2 yrs in a leadership role.
Experience with common bioprocessing operations - ideally both upstream and downstream.
Strong quality/compliance orientation and track record.
Thorough understanding of quality systems used in support of cGMP operations
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
Ability to work effectively across functions, including Quality, Materials and Facility functions.
Excellent written and verbal communications required
Physical Requirements
Ability to move 50 lbs. required.
