Great American Professional Risk Insurance Services (GAPRIS) provides specialized umbrella and excess liability coverages for medium ?to large-size companies in need of high coverage limits for casualty exposures by utilizing the varied capabilities within the Great American Insurance Group. We are looking for a Marketing and Underwriting Specialist to work a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC office. The person in this role will be responsible for developing, growing, and maintaining a profitable book of excess casualty and umbrella business.
Responsibilities:
Analyzes financial and risk data of proposed insureds to identify hazards and exposures.
Identify growth opportunities with key distribution partners.
Determines appropriate recommendations subject to our management and underwriting guidelines.
Ensures that effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers are developed and maintained to attract and retain profitable business.
Develops working relationships with assigned agencies within the assigned territory.
Ensures the delivery, follow-up, and servicing requirements of all quotes on new and renewal accounts.
Develops retail agency plant within the assigned territory.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3+ years of casualty underwriting or broking umbrella/excess experience is required.
Experience with construction accounts or wrap ups is preferred.
Must have experience establishing and building strong relationships with agents and brokers.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position requires regular travel in territory including overnight travel.
