Job Description:

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, final audit, and closure of assigned projects. The Project Manager will interact directly with clients to establish detailed project requirements, provide progress reports and to identify future business development opportunities. The Project Manager creates proposal documents, sets deadlines, delegates responsibilities, tracks project progress and prepares weekly reports for both internal and external consumption.

Preferred: O&G experience with Utility and electrical distribution design experience.

Responsibilities
  • Works closely with Client personnel, Project Managers, client field personnel, land men and electrical contractors, as well as all internal departments to ensure the projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop project plans, timelines and scope that accurately define resource requirements, schedules, task duration and cost estimates.
  • Develops the most effective and efficient overhead power line route in conjunction with client.
  • Prepare project bids and cost estimates for client review and approval.
  • Communicate effectively with the local utilities to ensure power becomes available for the project.
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, change orders and project cost using appropriate documents and provides to client as needed.
  • Handle all pertinent client projects, such as power quality issues, recloser programming, downtime issues, UAV needs.
  • Reviews and approves project deliverables (GIS maps, CAD One lines, SOW, PLS CAD Docs and reports, etc.) prior to client submission to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Real-time resolution of problems or jobsite obstacles with crews, customers, inspectors, etc.
  • Participate in client contract negotiations and change order preparation.
  • Oversee project meetings (project kickoff, client alignment, status meetings, progress review, etc.).
  • Approve project related time sheets, expenses, and invoices.
  • Keep accurate project time recorded in the company's project management software daily for invoicing.
  • Is available after hours and on weekends for other employees, managers, clients and to work projects as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Must reside in Midland TX area or be willing to relocate.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of O&G operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of transmission and distribution, including design issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material specifications, etc.
  • Strong competence in project bidding and cost negotiation as well as construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Strong management skills of problem-solving, organizing, planning, direction and monitoring projects and personnel.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be customer focused to appropriately identify and respond to clients' technical and business needs.
  • Must be willing to travel as required to client locations and corporate offices in TX and NM.
