Procurement Specialist will support program management through building vendor/supplier relationships, negotiating best pricing, ensuring materials and products meet contract specifications and flow-down, as well as follow company procurement standards through to completion of program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Buyer for DoD Contracting or Purchasing Specialist for DoD Contracting
Overseeing and managing Global Military Products IHD Supply Chain IPT
Develop and maintain good relationships with other Global Military Products employees, suppliers and manufacturers.
Manage purchase orders.
Create purchase orders with the assistance of engineering and program management.
Monitor Global Military Products for on time payment to suppliers,
Monitor suppliers for on time completion of product s and services.
Manage Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) efforts as required.
Create RFI/RFPs with the assistance of engineering and program management.
Submit all RFI/RFPs to suppliers.
Collect and manage all RFI/RFP supplier responses.
Support Proposals activities with RFI/RFP management.
Maintain a database of Global Military Products' suppliers and manufacturers.
Non-Standard Ammunition
Indian Head P3 Programs
US Government Programs
Establish and maintain a supplier rating system.
Conduct supplier vetting.
Support logistics with freight details and scheduled shipping.
Communicate order status.
Qualifications and Requirements
At least 3 years experience with U.S. DoD Contracting and/or Subcontracting
Ability to multitask with high attention to detail.
Prior ammunition and explosive industry experience preferred.
Prior customer service experience preferred.
Excellent time management and strong organizational skills
Preferred Experience: Prior DoD procurement experience with chemical procurements a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
ISO 9001:2015 training preferred.
Physical Demands, Working Conditions, & Abilities
Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
Occasional travel to suppliers and customers facilities, including Indian Head Naval base.
Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
Work will be completed in an office environment and includes some travel.
