Focus:
Lead a team of formulation experts to innovate and develop breakthrough OTC products by combining pharmaceutical and confectionary science.
Define and deliver innovative technology solutions to drive competitive advantage in product development.
Establish clear program goals, objectives, and development plans, ensuring alignment with project management systems.
Actively manage projects, identifying risks, addressing resource gaps, and making key decisions in collaboration with the team and leadership.
Provide direct supervision of day-to-day formulation team activities and offer technical guidance.
Design products to meet sensory and regulatory requirements while maintaining target costs.
Conduct comprehensive studies to define formulation and process conditions necessary for regulatory compliance.
Execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to assess critical attributes of ingredients, products, and processes, providing technical recommendations.
Collaborate closely with the Analytical Laboratory team to ensure products meet regulatory requirements.
Capture the product development process in the appropriate format, such as CMC documentation.
Partner with the Commercialization team to ensure successful technical transfer of products.
Participate in evaluating innovation capabilities and identifying opportunities for new product ideas.
Skill Set:
Bachelor's , Master's or PhD degree in a relevant science discipline (e.g., chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development or R&D, with extensive experience in both oral monograph and NDA drug products.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in people leadership roles with strong project management, scientific, and analytical skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of product development, including formulation, ingredients, project management, regulatory compliance, and sensory analysis.
Experience in food science and/or confectionary-based product development is a plus.
Familiarity with relevant regulations such as 21 CFR Parts 110, 111, 210, and 211.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
