As an Amphenol Industrial Operations Buyer, you'll be responsible for negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services. Buyer will be responsible for buyer planning and procurement of goods and services to facilitate manufacturing while ensuring cost, quality, and timely delivery. Develop and monitor relationships with the company's supply base and oversee internal supply chain development. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for purchasing components
Purchase and monitor an assigned category of inventory
Negotiate prices, leverage buys and analyze purchasing reports to reduce inventory and purchase a quality product at the best possible price
Manage inventory of purchased items required to fulfill the needs purchased
Manage and minimize excess/obsolete inventory
Utilize continuous improvement tools and strategies to reduce inventory while increasing delivery.
Maintain integrity of ERP data and maintain accuracy of inventory transactions throughout entire planning and purchasing process
Improve fill rates, quality, lead times and needs while monitoring and tracking delivery performance
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred (Business Administration, Supply Chain Management)
2-4 years directly related experience.
In addition, possess the ability to represent the operation in a professional manner, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
