Our mission at Capsida is to develop a new class of targeted gene therapies for patients with debilitating and life-threatening diseases, with an early focus on the CNS. We are a fully integrated next-generation gene therapy platform company, with capsid engineering, discovery and preclinical research, clinical development, and manufacturing all under one roof.
At Capsida, we create customized therapies that selectively target specific organ systems and simultaneously limit exposure to non-targeted organs. We have a growing internal pipeline that is advancing toward IND, as well as a partnered pipeline with Abbvie, Crispr, and Lilly.
The Executive Director, Clinical Development will have the opportunity to progress the clinical development of potentially transformational gene therapies. Key responsibilities will include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders (including investigators, therapeutic area experts, and patient organizations) to advance candidates into the clinic, interacting with health authorities, filing INDs, and designing and executing Phase 1/2 trials. This position will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
Qualifications:
M.D.
Neurologist and/or experience with clinical trials in neurology
Gene therapy experience a plus
6+ years of industry experience, including early development
Experience with all aspects of trial design and execution
Regulatory experience, including filing of INDs
Proven track record of leadership, with ability to drive projects and lead teams
Ability to both think strategically and execute on tactics
Experience working effectively in a matrixed team environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions and with external stakeholders
Ability to identify innovative approaches to advancing clinical development
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver results

Executive Director Salary: $260,000 - $357,500 per year
Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, stock options, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
