Job Description:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be a key contributor to the quality organization and heavily influence the overall quality of the ZincFive family of products. The position reports to the Quality Manager. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will mentor other quality and manufacturing engineers on process design, as well as process and product improvements. This position will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Manufacturing Process Engineer Job Duties:
  • Provide leadership in process improvement, machine, and fixture design, including environmental health and safety
  • Design and perform effective and efficient tests and experiments that advance process and product understanding and knowledge
  • Develop and implement Lean manufacturing operations, processes, tooling, and systems to optimize productivity and efficiency, and train manufacturing leaders, teams, and operators in these areas
  • Lead process and product improvements and implement changes using Lean Six Sigma problem solving methodology
  • Specify critical parameters and metrics to be measured and reported by the QC/inspection team
  • Generate SOPs to support production processes and equipment design for new and existing products
  • Conduct Risk assessments
  • Perform and document internal audits
  • Provide effective team and project management duties and achieve project completion deadlines
  • Think and act analytically to achieve effective solutions, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to solve practical job related problems

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering)
  • 3-5 years experience with developing and improving process and product design
  • Ability to read/understand schematics and PCB layout
  • Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits and system level testing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality tools, concepts, and methodologies, such as 8D, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred)
  • Ability to develop and execute both manual and automated product tests which could include both visual and audio inspection
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast, changing and small startup company environment
  • Ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally, if needed

Preferred Skills:
  • Product or industry-specific experience such as battery backup or uninterruptible power supplies
  • Relevant certifications such as a Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements such as UL, IEEE, ISO 9000/9001
  • Knowledge of/experience using SAP or other CRM/ERP applications

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Work involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 35 pounds
  • Domestic and international travel by car, airplane, bus & train
  • Requires close visual acuity, the ability to distinguish color, and the ability to hear
  • Warehouse and office environment

Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
