Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Estimator/Purchasing Manager. This role plays a crucial part in our turnkey design-build system, ensuring efficient and effective procurement of materials and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. The ideal candidate will embody our core values and possess a strong background in construction knowledge, estimating, purchasing, and takeoff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the sales and design team to provide preliminary and contract estimates, specs, and proposals.
  • Issue purchase orders to subcontractors and vendors once a home is contracted.
  • Track project budgets in real time.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trade partners to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate trade partner setup, evaluation, and performance management.
  • Conduct procurement & analysis of subcontractors' bids based on optimal pricing and accuracy.
  • Review plans and perform quantity take-offs, obtaining bids as necessary.
  • Visit project sites for jobsite takeoffs, troubleshooting, and meetings with subcontractors/vendors to solve problems.
  • Facilitate construction agreements, scopes of work, and bid contract documents.
  • Process, estimate, and release all change order requests for client approval.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure quality and standards are met.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
  • Interface with architects, designers, and engineers on product development & innovation.
  • Provide analysis on margin percentages and track hard cost trends.
  • Interface with accounting for billing and payment inquiries and resolve any issues.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction/home building industry, with estimating, takeoff, and purchasing experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with an aptitude for learning new software programs.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed for onsite assessments and meetings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

  • 2 weeks paid time off. Plus major holidays. We also take 1 week off around Christmas and New Years as a company.
