Job Summary

Better Being is looking for a Benefits Partner who will play a pivotal role in the administration of our employee benefit plans and HCM platform. This person will be a go to resource for employees that have enrollment or general benefit questions and will lead Open Enrollment and reporting requirements. This person will report to the Director of Total Rewards.

Essential Functions
  • Ensure information entered in the HRIS is accurate.
  • Research employee benefits plans and vendors to pinpoint options that offer optimal value.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Monthly benefit billing and invoicing.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, leave programs, and compliance testing.
  • Preparation of Form 5500, SPD's and SAR's.
  • Maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with carrier representatives.
  • Administers the HR function of the 401(k) Plan in coordination with the third-party administrator.
  • Compiles data from records and prepares reports; types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, etc. Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.
  • Coordination of vendor relations regarding benefits
  • Explain employee benefits by conducting meetings, preparing written and graphic announcements and explanations, and responding to requests.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Benefit compliance including, but not limited to, FMLA and ACA tracking and reporting.
  • Provide support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of benefits package.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, operations associates, home office associates and remote staff.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or HR policies, procedures, programs and activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; with one to three years related experience or training.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software. HRIS systems, Workday preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and comply with policy/procedures, governmental regulations, and employment laws. Requires broad technical knowledge of the laws and regulations surrounding human resources with excellent human relations and people sensitive skills. General business management and communication skills.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionallyrequired to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Employee must exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, and field of vision.
