Overview: Join our client's rapidly growing assurance and advisory practice in Boston, MA! Assist domestic and global clients in numerous industries, including healthcare, technology, hospitality, consumer and industrial products, telecommunications, and financial services, among others.

The client is seeking highly qualified Assurance Senior Associate professional to join their dynamic team in Boston.

The Position: The Senior Associate professional handles day-to-day planning of client engagements, supervises staff team members and is a hands-on professional. Supervisors will assist junior staff with understanding general audit practices and procedures.

Seniors contribute to developing new business through producing high quality client work and proposals. The Senior Assurance role involves overseeing the work of staff associates and developing junior staff through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate various phases of engagements, budget time and expenses, monitor actual performance against budget, review work papers for accuracy and completeness, and review financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures.
  • Supervise audit planning, field work, and audit reporting; prepare reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Mentor assurance staff.
  • Monitor actual time incurred and analyze actual time versus budgeted time.
  • Keep senior management apprised of all aspects of the engagement.
  • Take full ownership and responsibility for all aspects of the assurance engagement from planning, to report issuance, to closing the binder.
  • Perform technical research as required.
  • Communicate engagement needs to the client.
  • Recognize extended service opportunities.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with client and staff.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS/MS/MBA in Accounting, minimum of 150 credits.
  • CPA in process (or at minimum eligible for exam)
  • 2 - 6 years of related experience
  • Strong technological skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new or different technology
  • Understanding of relevant accounting and finance rules and concepts
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills
  • Client services and management skills
  • Team leadership and participation
