PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence, in partnership with the Providence Public School District, is preparing for the 6th summer of our impactful Summer Learning Program (SLP). The Summer Learning Program is designed to help children in Grades 1-6 (rising) advance academic skills during the summer so they can "hit the ground running" when school starts in the Fall! Teachers and Teacher Assistants guide participants through fun and engaging BellXcel literacy and math activities in the morning, while our Youth Development Specialists and Activity Leaders lead afternoon fun in sports and games, arts, outdoor play, S.T.E.M., service projects, field trips and lots more! 5 years of data shows that participants in our Summer Learning Program not only avoid summer learning loss, but they actually grow their literacy and math skills by a month or more over a 6-week program!
