Teledyne Controls specializes in providing cutting-edge onboard avionics systems and ground-based applications to facilitate efficient data access, management, and utilization for both civil and military aircraft operators.

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing our manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality. The ideal candidate has a solid electronics background with an understanding of electronic circuits. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from conducting tests and analyses to providing technical mentoring and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

In this role, the primary focus is on effective coordinate with various department, external organizations, customers, and suppliers. The goal is to ensure that organizational requirements are met promptly, maintaining the expected quality level, and adhering to schedule commitments. This involves analyzing engineering documents, specifications, and change orders to identify the necessary equipment, tooling, materials, and manufacturing methods required for producing high-quality products within specified guidelines.

The Manufacturing Engineer participates in developing company business plans and strategic decisions, related to manufacturing, quality, and customer technical relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the refinement of electronics manufacturing processes in collaboration with design and test engineering teams.
  • Provide valuable insights to Engineering regarding testability considerations for new product designs.
  • Develop and implement new processes and methodologies to enhance electronics manufacturing quality and efficiency.
  • Analyze and optimize workforce utilization, space, and workflow to improve electronics manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinate with management and engineering teams to streamline electronics production processes.
  • Support the testing of analog/digital circuits and embedded devices.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Interface effectively with design engineering to provide valuable manufacturing insights.
  • Troubleshoot electronics build and test issues, working closely with operators and technicians.
  • Review and optimize production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows.
  • Ensure production compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Review electronics manufacturing documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct operator training and oversee electronics equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide comprehensive training to Operations teams on new electronics processes and products.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing departments to provide technical support and information.
  • Lead the execution of assigned electronics manufacturing projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the QA department to maintain high product yield and quality standards.
  • Assist the Operations manager in meeting targeted figures for On-Time Delivery (OTD), Test Yields, and Quality performance.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in an engineering discipline relevant to electronics manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of electronics manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Proficient in electronic troubleshooting and interpreting schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics systems, detail, and assembly drawings, as well as PCB design approaches for High-Speed circuitry.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and proficiency in data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and benchtop electronic test equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in avionics development.
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation.
  • Understanding of VHDL (FPGA development) and analog circuit design.
  • U.S. Person status due to ITAR restrictions.

Target Salary: 115 - 135K
