The Compliance Manager is engaged in monitoring the credit card program to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Compliance is responsible for providing management, the Audit Committee and the Board an independent, objective review of Bankcard activities to ensure business programs, policies, and procedures align with laws and regulations. The Compliance team collaborates with management in a consultative capacity assisting management in achieving their objectives by employing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of regulatory and governance processes. Compliance is also responsible for the timely execution of risk-based reviews in accordance with the annually approved program and other monitoring events. The qualified candidate will be able to work independently and with a team to perform assigned duties and must be able to carry out these responsibilities in a confidential, professional and ethical manner.
Jobs Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert on regulations related to the credit card program, providing guidance to internal departments and management as needed.
Plan and perform reviews and other monitoring to determine conformity with laws and regulations and address potential compliance issues.
Stay informed of new or changing regulations to identify regulatory risk.
Oversee and annually evaluate the Fair Lending and FACTA risk assessments.
Review marketing materials, letters, procedures, and new and changing initiatives to provide guidance on compliance and risk impact.
Participate in various projects to provide compliance risk consulting.
Skills and Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, including but not limited to, Regulation Z, Regulation B, Fair Lending, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Compliance experience preferred or 5+ years of experience in the credit card industry or a financial organization.
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct in decision making processes and all professional endeavors.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with management and regulators.
Proficient knowledge of the structure and content of the English language is required, including the meaning, rules of composition, and grammar.
