ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Load/Offload manufactured material, supplies and other items, and move to designated areas by use of forklift, pallet jack or other manual means. 

  • Move, stack, and organize materials within the warehouse or shipping area using forklift, following established procedures.

  • Transport manufactured material and operating supplies from warehouse to warehouse either by forklift or Class C Vehicle

  • Segregate merchandise by customer and or by warehouse inventory system.

  • Effectively communicate with warehouse personnel and other team members to coordinate shipping activities and ensure a smooth workflow.

  • Organize warehouse space efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet shipping schedules and deadlines.

  • Verify the quality of materials being transported, identifying, and reporting any damaged or defective items.

  • Meet all OSHA related requirements under CCR T-8, 3668.

  • Report safety concerns to Supervisor.

  • Comply with all Sierra Aluminum Company safety rules and forklift guidelines.

  • Complete daily pre-operations inspection checklist for forklift and other powered equipment. 

  • Fork Lift Operator must be capable of exercising good judgment and professional conduct. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • One year manufacturing (preferred) and forklift operation experience 

  • High School Diploma (preferred). 

  • Available to work all possible shifts including weekends. Position requires overtime. 

  • California Driver’s License 

  • Certification in Forklift Operations 

  • Teamwork is essential, must be willing to work closely and effectively communicate with co-workers

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Must have the initiative to identify, communicate, and correct problems, as well as adapt to change

  • Must be able to work overtime or “off shift” work hours, as required

  • Must be willing to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • MS Outlook 

  • Working knowledge of MS Office 

  • Minimum of High School Diploma

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. 

PHYSICAL EFFORT: 


  1. Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like; using feel and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. 

  2. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. 

  3. Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

  4.  Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. 

  5. Standing: Particularly for a sustained period of time. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances. 

  6. Pushing: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, press against something with steady force in order to thrust forwards, downward or outward. 

  7. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. 

  8. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. 

  9. Hearing: Ability to receive oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound. 

  10. Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.  Driving: Minimum standards required by State Law (including license). 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 

Worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather. 

Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes (i.e. factory production areas, covered loading docks and maintenance shops) 

Worker is subject to noise areas in our facilities are subject to the OSHA hearing conservation standard.

The base pay range for this position is $20.63 - $22.80. If you are hired, your base pay rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base pay range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued wage growth.
