Job Description:
The focus and responsibility of the Estimator I role will be accurate and timely contribution to the primary department deliverables of producing House Purchase Order Packages and processing of Invoices and Variance Purchase Orders. The Estimator I will play a key role in supporting the Estimating and Purchasing Team and leadership in various administrative tasks with focus on detail and accuracy - including: generation and documentation of plan material takeoffs, solicitation and compilation of labor and/or material bids, cost data development and tracking, tracking and submission of rebates, generation and preparation of department reporting, interdepartmental communication and reporting, etc.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Professional and effective communication, both written and verbal, with internal and external team partners
Clear and complete communication in request of information, interpretation and/or documentation
Contribution and support of complete, accurate and organized capture, documentation and tracking of data
Generate and maintain complete and accurate plan/material takeoffs using PlanSwift software
Contribution and support of accurate and timely creation and release of House Purchase Order Packages
Accurate and timely processing of Invoices and/or Variance Purchase Orders
Complete and timely production of Variance Reporting
Complete and timely tracking and submission of Rebates
Organize and maintain complete, accurate and relevant department data and files
Other tasks & duties as assigned by Dir of Pre-Construction
Qualities needed to be successful:
Foundational knowledge of standard residential construction practices and standards
1 to 3 years of construction industry experience or education
Proficiency in computer skills
Aptitude with Microsoft Office applications
Professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Positive and friendly disposition
Keen attention to detail
Ability to self-motivate
Ability to work independently and/or in team environment
