KLR Executive Search is proud to partner with Edesia, an organization on a mission to end malnutrition globally. Since 2010, they have reached over 21 million children across 65 countries with the life-saving foods they make in Rhode Island. The Organization partners with UNICEF, the World Food Program, and USAID.

With a team of 140 employees from over 26 countries working together, Edesia reaches out to children caught in humanitarian crises worldwide. This position is on-site in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Due to growth, the Organization is expanding its staff by adding a Director of People and Culture to its team. Reporting to the CEO & Founder, this professional will lead the organization's Human Resources and culture development initiatives while actively participating in and driving the Organization's overall staff engagement strategy and culture. This professional will be vital in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment where employees feel valued and can thrive and contribute to our mission. The Director of People and Culture will collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent while upholding our organizational values and culture.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Partner with leadership to address employee relations concerns, providing resources and guidance throughout the performance management process.
  • Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion by implementing inclusive hiring practices and promoting a culture of respect and belonging.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to periodically review and enhance the company's compensation systems and goals, ensuring employee motivation, retention, and attraction.
  • Establish annual wage analysis workflows to meet industry standards and remain competitive.

Job Qualifications:
  • Proven creative problem solver who is curious and open to ideas regarding people strategies.
  • Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to and experience in advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources and state/local employment law. Exercise judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources, demonstrating a thorough understanding of various Human Resources policies, procedures, federal and state laws, compliance practices, standards, and government regulations.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish or French is strongly preferred.
