Brunel is currently searching for a Civil CAD Designer- Tailings for a direct hire role with our client located in Miami, Arizona at an active mine site.
Assist Superintendent of Tailings, Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE) and interface with Engineer of Record (EOR) in (including but not limited to) tailings planning, short and long-term. Supports the business by using GIS and earthwork modeling software applications to provide detailed tailings deposition plans, water removal plans, supporting infrastructure designs and safe work plans for tailings management. The designer also works with appropriate team members to visualize the overall strategy and plans for the department and provides support in designing tailings storage facility (TSF) construction.

Collaborating with:
Internal: Project Managers, All operational and support areas within company
External: Contractors and service providers to ensure that documentation and work standards meet company standards and are submitted on a timely basis
Responsibilities include:

Ensure all consultants, contractors and vendors are working in compliance with all Company procedures.
Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
Assist in work planning according to TSF design construction strategies, using survey and design tools.
Prepare long-term plans and short-term deposition plans that allow for the appropriate utilization and management of equipment and resources.
Participate in and document weekly, monthly, and long-term project planning and scheduling meetings.
Develop medium and long-term plans as required.

Conduct job site review weekly and print and distribute plans for 7-day work week
Build plans that minimize equipment downtime
Create designs for the development of the active tailing's storage facilities, the closure of closed storage facilities, and water management plans across all facilities
Assist in managing GPS systems and uploading CAD files to Trimble systems on heavy equipment
Required Qualifications:
Must be Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Five to eight years' experience working in the field of site civil design
Intermediate to Proficient computer skills (All Microsoft Office programs)
Preferred Qualifications:
CAD Certification
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
Strong time management skills required
Knowledge of TSF design, construction, operation, maintenance, and surveillance.
Knowledge of survey equipment, procedures, and principles
Experience with Muk 3D is a huge plus

This role will be on-site on a 4-day work week, 10-hour day schedule. Enjoy 3-day weekends every week! Hours are 6am-4pm or 6:30am-4:30pm.
