Job Description:

The Role

My client, a dynamic renewables developer is seeking an experienced 360 Renewables Project Developer, to join their team in Richmond, VA. The candidate will work with the development team, engineer, financial analyst, and third-party consultants on utility scale renewable energy development projects in the eastern US. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to be involved in many aspects of early to mid-stage renewables development projects.

What You'll Do:

The project developer will be entrusted with the management of projects from site origination through project monetization, including:
• Site identification, selection and analysis, in partnership with colleagues
• Landowner outreach and contract negotiation
• Coordinating with 3rd party consultants to prepare and submit permits including land use and zoning
• Managing 3rd party consultants to obtain preliminary title commitments
• Negotiation of personal property tax abatements or PILOTS with county officials
• Coordinating with in-house project engineer to manage third-party engineering and environmental consultants to obtain required studies and surveys
• Working closely with our project engineer to create preliminary layouts, production forecasts, and manage third-party consultants as needed
• Progress projects through the interconnection studies process, in partnership with the company's development team
• Maintaining a strong understanding of the regulatory and policy environments
• Support the Executive Team in marketing the project(s) to customers
• Provide input to our financial analyst for creating project financial models

Who You Are:
• 3-5 years of hands on renewable energy development or project management
• Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to quality work product
• Extremely organized; able to manage competing priorities
• High energy, responds well to pressure, works to deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as with a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or related discipline. Master's Degree in business or engineering strongly preferred
• Experience in contract negotiations, legal knowledge and background associated with successful contract management.
• This person should have experience in managing interconnection processes

What You Have:
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen & criminal background check
• Travel may be required (all expenses reimbursed and will include a per diem for incidentals)
• Salary will be commensurate with experience and will offer bonus opportunity
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• This is an in-office, non-remote position. Candidate must be able to work in Richmond, VA office, 40 + hours per week, daily hours 8:30 to 5:30.
