Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager excels in carrying out, directing and managing the overall execution of customer CAPEX projects from project initiation to closing, applying Boccard Project Management System tools and processes, and standard project Management practices. Scope of projects may collectively or individually include: Conceptual Design, Basic Design, Detailed Design, Procurement, Shop Fabrication, Construction, Commissioning and Qualification.
Position Functions:
Plan and execute the project according to Boccard Project Management System and internal best practices in place. Accomplish and deliver the project objectives based on Boccard commitment: Safety First, On Time, On Spec, On Budget
Keep safety First, comply with OSHA regulations, anticipate safety issues take corrective actions, and report any violations to hierarchy
Manage from small to multi-million-dollar projects and develop business with Clients
Prepare monthly budget reports. Analyze and explain technical and budgetary variances for Estimate To Complete" and "Estimate At Completion" forecasts
Prepare quotations, draft proposals, and support technical alignments. Review customer purchase orders for alignment with Boccard's proposals and scope of work. Upon contract award, gather and review data from estimating phase and perform project initiation
During project execution, monitor project scope, identify scope variations, and prepare estimates for change requests in compliance with contractual agreement and per internal rules
Track execution schedule against baseline, identify project dependencies and variances, and report impacts to critical path and contractual milestones
Coordinate with Department Managers to plan and acquire the resources required and assemble the project team. Liaison with all project stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
Set and continuously manage project expectations with team members and other internal and external stakeholders
Organize and conduct project meetings (Kick Off Meeting, Weekly, Fortnightly, etc.) throughout the lifecycle of the project
Continuously monitor Project risks, using Boccard internal risk register, and take proactive actions using standard risk management tools (avoid, transfer, mitigate, manage)
Track project KPIs and communicate metrics to stakeholders throughout the project execution
Document and manage project issues utilizing a project issue log and issuing non-conformity reports when appropriate. Collaborate with Quality Department to review and close non-conformity reports, help improve best practices, and standard operating procedures
Throughout the project, collaborate with Purchasing Department in vendor selection, issue purchase order requisitions as needed, and validate receipt of vendor goods and services
Participate in selecting suppliers, develop associated specifications and help in conducting RFQ process: offer analysis and technical comparison of offers
Provide coordination between contractors onsite and customer representatives (i.e., safety manager, construction manager) and monitor contractors: respect of the scope, quality criterion as defined in the contract, open non-conformities when applicable and ensure application of related action plan
Prepare detailed technical specifications and equipment specifications for projects in food, or dairy, or beverage, or cosmetics, or pharmaceutical or brewery markets. Prepare technical bid packages for mechanical installation of process equipment, platforms, pipe racks, piping and other industrial components based on the scope of the projects
Throughout the project (as necessary) coordinate shop fabrication and onsite installation on assigned projects. Organize and facilitate acceptance tests (Simulations, FAT, SAT, Qualifications)
Establish equipment list from validated P&ID, validate P&ID. Support Project Managers, Site Managers and Engineering Manager in all the design review (P&ID, drawing, 3D)
In charge of project until full closure phase completion. Establish, manage, and solve project punch-list. Document project handover and execute Provisional and Final Acceptance certificates. Handle project reserves and claims and assist in securing final payment. Review deliverables from project team and vendors for compliance with specifications and scope of work, prior to submittal to customer
Carry out project closeout, prepare project postmortem and report final project KPIs. Submit customer satisfaction survey and collect feedback. Prepare recommendations and document Lessons Learned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (prefer Agricultural, Chemical, Mechanical, or Food Process emphasis).
Ten years of experience in Hygienic Life Sciences: Food, Cosmetic, etc.
A minimum of five years of proven experience in a CAPEX Project Manager role.
