The Role We Want You For:
The Material Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for the supervision of the Procurement and Material Controls staff including Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Costs.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop processes and systems to both execute and monitor Procurement and Material Management throughout the site.
Update and maintain project procurement and materials management systems and/or software to execute procurement and materials management functions.
Produce required materials reports for projects including but not limited to status reports of Purchase Orders, inventory reports, short and back order reports, and forecasts.
Develop and implement warehousing and inventory management processes and systems for projects, including storing received materials in an organized fashion and maintaining real time inventory of materials in warehouse.
Develop and implement receiving of materials processes and systems for projects.
Develop and implement processes and systems for distribution of materials from warehouse to field construction supervision and personnel as required to support construction needs and schedule.
Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
Perform all other job related duties as requested by supervision.
Requirements:
High school curriculum
Eight (8) + years of experience in Material Control or equivalent combinations training and experience
knowledge of shipping and receiving activities, craft jurisdiction for off-loading material
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Supervisory experience is plus
Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on own as well as in a team environment.
Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency
Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and scale multi-floor scaffolding
Ability to lift objects of at least 50 lbs.
