What Will You Do?

The Director of Ecommerce Fulfillment is responsible for leading all aspects of the Ecommerce fulfillment process, from order receipt to delivery to customer. This position will also play a key role in developing and implementing strategies and lead a team to continuously improve our fulfillment processes, reduce costs, and exceed customer expectations. This position will initially own and guide all Ecommerce processes, but quickly build a team to support the future growth of the Ecommerce division.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the ecommerce fulfillment process, from order receipt to delivery to customer.
  • Ensure that products are picked, packed, shipped, and delivered to our customers accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead all efforts to incorporate dramatically increasing new business volume.
  • Lead efforts to define, recommend, cost justify and acquire automation solutions.
  • Develop and implement fulfillment strategies that improve speed and improve service to the customer.
  • Plan labor and transportation volume as seasonality changes due to promotions and seasonality.
  • Oversee auditing of ecommerce carrier spend.
  • Oversee auditing invoice compliance across all The Ashley Companies ecommerce accounts.
  • Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies in ecommerce fulfillment and lead strategies to implement.
  • Lead efforts to validate and approve all parcel related invoices
  • Lead cross-functional teams with a goal of improving performance and reducing cost.
  • Manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for inventory management and control.
  • Lead and define the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics providers.
  • Lead negotiations with carriers and logistics providers.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Develop and manage the ecommerce fulfillment budget.
  • Frequent travel in the first 3 months. Moderate travel afterwards

Job Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in business processes/program management/fulfillment operations preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent work experience required (examples include Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, ext.). MBA or related master's degree in business related field preferred
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing operational improvements
  • Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Document management system
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet
  • Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries
