The job objective is to analyze supply chain data and trends to support the procurement needs of the organization, procure raw materials, components or various supplies utilized in the manufacturing of the finished goods produced at Florida Supplement. This role helps ensure that materials are sourced and procured from the most appropriate vendors, balancing cost, and quality. The Purchasing Analyst needs to consider that cost savings are important but not at the sacrifice of quality.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Search, analyze and review market pricing for raw materials and components for pricing quotations, proposals, and to support current demand.
Stay informed of economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets, prices, and delivery conditions.
Receive requisitions and check each item for quantity, specifications, and any other specific requirements.
Set negotiation strategies.
Analyze spend, conduct benchmarking, and evaluate potential and current suppliers.
Advise/apprise internal teams on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle.
Conduct thorough analysis of procurement data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
Generate and maintain reports that provide insights into procurement performance, suppliers evaluation, inventory management, and other analyses to support the Supply Chain team and greater organization.
Collaborate with the procurement team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Assist in evaluating supplier performance based on data analysis, contributing to supplier selection and negotiations.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements through data analysis and reporting.
Purchasing of raw materials, components and/or related manufacturing supplies.
Sourcing raw materials, components and/or related manufacturing supplies to obtain lowest cost while maintaining quality standards.
Negotiating with vendors to obtain favorable pricing that will enhance the company's margins.
Maintaining positive working/partner relationships with suppliers.
Sourcing new and alternate suppliers.
Effectively manage the inventory levels for the commodities the Purchasing Analyst is responsible for.
Following up with suppliers to ensure orders are shipped on time, as confirmed, and according to the instructions given.
Work with Accounts Payable as needed to reconcile invoice discrepancies.
Support buyers in troubleshooting issues with purchasing, receiving, and/or payment.
Provide purchasing team oversight support for Purchasing Management.
Support management in developing and establishing purchasing policies and procedures.
Maintaining all records both physical files and electronic files.
Follows established procedures including standard operating procedures (SOP's), cGMP, food safety regulations, and safety procedures.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
3+ years of Purchasing Analyst experience in a manufacturing environment. Nutraceutical or Pharmaceutical preferred but not required.
Experience in Supply Chain Planning, Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Control.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technical Skills Required to Perform this Job
Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, MRP software systems (e.g. AS400). Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats. Proficient in the use of calculations for ordering increment and costs.
Education (Minimal Education Needed)
Minimum educational requirement AA degree. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in the field will be considered in lieu of upper education.
