We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Manager to join our rapidly growing Engineering team in Irvine, CA. Our specialty is designing, building, and implementing mission critical industrial control systems, and providing expert level automation consulting and guidance directly to end users. An Automation Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple engineering project teams, maintaining excellent client communication, and delivering expected outcomes on time.
Responsibilities:
Lead project teams by executing in adherence to company core values, methodology, and best practices
Manage the client relationship
Manage the project scope
Develop and maintain the project budget
Develop and maintain the project schedule
Be an advocate of project risk management
Be an advocate for continuous improvement of the company's processes
Forecast and maintain project staff loading requirements
Coordinate and schedule project activities
Support engineering team talent development and performance management
Be an advocate for human and process safety during all phases of a project
Occasional
Strategic project planning for clients
Review of technical documentation
Attend project meetings onsite (typically in state)
Attributes:
Serving industries such as water/waste-water, chemical, life sciences, and manufacturing
Provide services in process control applications including: consulting, design, implementation, and maintenance
Maintaining long term client relationships
5-10 active projects at a time, with project teams of 3 to 8 engineers
Project sizes from $50k to $3M, 1 month to 3 years in duration
Project Managers are typically assigned portfolios of $2M per year
Requirements:
5+ Years Project Management experience, preferably in Systems Integration and Automation
Experience managing a team of billable staff
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical and Mechanical) heavily preferred
Strong skillset and familiarity with MS Project, Excel and Word
Valid Driver license and appropriate transportation for travel to field/client sites
