Operational Buyer - Wever, Iowa

We are seeking an Operational Buyer to join our client's Procurement team in Wever, Iowa. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the Procurement Department's operations, encompassing various responsibilities from purchase order management to supplier coordination. The selected candidate will work closely with the Business Procurement Manager and will have opportunities for mentorship and long-term growth within the organization.

Skills:
  • Master Data Management:
  • Ability to manage and maintain suppliers, purchase information records, and contracts in SAP (S4 Hana).
  • Update and manage price and minimum order quantity information within SAP.

  • Purchase Order Management:
  • Convert requisitions into purchase orders for diverse requirements such as projects, manufacturing, and sales.
  • Ensure complete documentation and approvals for purchase orders.

  • Quotation and Supplier Coordination:
  • Manage the request for quotes process, review quotations based on evaluation criteria, and select suppliers in consultation with the Procurement Manager.

  • Technical and Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of performing tasks that include bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25lbs.
  • Adaptability to an industrial chemical plant environment and compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements:
  • Educational and Experience Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; preference for candidates with around 10 years of experience at a senior level.

  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP (S4 Hana).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint).

  • Soft Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Leadership experience and mentorship capabilities are advantageous.

  • Industry and Role-Specific Preferences:
  • Prior experience in heavy industries such as oil and gas, chemical, or petrochemical sectors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAPEX, turnarounds, contract management, sourcing, and negotiations is beneficial.

  • Personal Attributes:
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and perform effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Ownership mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to responsibilities.
