Position Summary:

The Digital Merchandising Manager is responsible for building and executing a comprehensive digital merchandising strategy ensuring the content is presented with exciting assortments to ensure that the merchandised product drives customer engagement. You will work with a team of product listers to improve customers experiences on our website, helping the customer to find and purchase the products they need. You will also be hands-on with defining requirements, prioritizing features, and consistently launching products that delight our customers and grow the business, defining and tracking key metrics not just to measure effectiveness of new products but also managing the platform on an ongoing basis. You understand how customers shop online and use strategic thinking and innovation to create a seamless and exciting site experience for our customers. You're probably right for this role if you have at least 5 years' experience optimizing the ecommerce customer journey, product data across product pages, category landing pages, product discovery, navigation elements, repricing, organization and display of products.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish, execute, and measure e-commerce merchandising strategies to directly drive web sales, traffic and conversion. Must be comfortable visually merchandising the website to ensure best in class ecommerce experience.
  • Drive the site strategy using customer insights to tell a cohesive story and create a seamless customer experience, overseeing visual site merchandising and content strategy, site functionality including navigation, hierarchy, search and browse, and new product on-boarding.
  • Ensure the customer experience is seamless throughout their journey by consistently reviewing and optimizing product experience, including product pages, category landing pages, cross-sells, search keywords, navigational elements, and product sequencing.
  • Using sales data, attribution data, and possible different software to make informed website and merchandising decisions.
  • Analyze sales, analytics, selling data, website data, and customer data to identify trends, product performance metrics, inventory positions, and growth opportunities.
  • Review, create, update, and maintain product listings on our website, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and visual appeal.
  • Identify photo opportunities to switch and make suggestions on website to increase sales.
  • Keep all merchandise assortments organized and cohesive.
  • Provide insights and reporting on a regular basis which includes to oversee the development of site metrics and dashboards to monitor site health, providing strategic insights to management to influence the overall direction for the site. Then reviewing, analyzing, and reacting to the reporting.
  • Research and monitor industry trends, competitor websites, and emerging e-commerce best practices to stay informed and provide insights for continual improvement.
  • Communicate with purchasing and marketing in collaboration with monthly content calendar, launches, promotions, overstock, and sales.
  • Work on initiatives to enhance the overall online shopping experience, such as creating curated collections, improving product recommendations, and bundling.
  • Execute on site updates and setups as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, product listers, and customer service to ensure cohesive messaging, improve processes, identify opportunities, and driving continual assessment and improvement of the site's strategic direction and execution. Prioritizing and reacting with a sense of urgency to the requests from management and internal teams.
  • Help scale best-in-class efficient workflows, processes and timelines, ensuring operational excellence into everything you do and developing associates on the team to increase capabilities and enhance skills, knowledge and performance.
  • Merchandising of categories to align with sales performance, marketing efforts, product launches, and promotions; building and managing curated categories and seasonal offerings as needed.
  • Execute updates to navigation, filters, product recommendations, upsells, and other category adjustments.

Required Skills:
  • Strong interest in, and an understanding of, the sporting goods and/or fashion industries.
  • Technically oriented to be able to implement changes within Shopify Plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to compile, consume, understand, and create action plans to execute on resulting data.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus collection build outs, filtering, and navigation set-up and maintenance.
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams
  • A high degree of motivation, flexibility, creativity, attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as it relates to both senior leadership and peers.

Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in development languages including JavaScript, & HTML.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and customer behaviors.
  • Knowledge of behaviors and decision trees to create basic analytical reports to identify site improvement areas.
  • Understanding of E-commerce compliance to include WCAG, Consumer Data Protection, etc.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years' Digital Merchandising.
  • 3+ years' Direct to Consumer e-commerce experience. (Preferably using Shopify Plus).
  • 3+ years' Direct to Consumer e-commerce managerial experience leading and managing product teams.
