Summary of Job

Pregis is seeking to hire an experienced Planning & Purchasing Manager to continue building and improving the shared service infrastructure across procurement, vendor relations, and cost reduction in a discreet manufacturing environment that specializes in a Machine Building environment. The ideal candidate will possess (1) experience in a manufacturing company of relevant size and complexity; (2) expertise in SIOP (sales, inventory, & operations planning), procurement, materials management, and transportation with experience in the end-to-end supply chain in a business with B2B relationships and dependence on commodity supply; and; (3) a distinctive track record of leading significant operational change and financial results across an enterprise that optimizes cost, quality, and service. The position will manage 3 departments that includes Order Entry, Project Coordination/Planning, and Procurement, with 8 direct reports.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manages project coordination team for all enterprise accounts working with Field Service Team, Client Advocates, Production Supervisors, Purchasing, and Site Services.
  • Supply side coordinator for SIOP (sales, inventory, & operations planning) working with Product Management and overseeing Procurement to make long-range production plans.
  • Master Planning: Integrates sales orders with master schedule per budgetary guidelines; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
  • Maintains master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
  • Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
  • Coordinates production forecasts with suppliers to ensure adequate supply.
  • Supplier liaison managing product flow along with assisting inventory reduction.
  • Supplier Negotiations and sourcing
  • Establish vendor relationship and establish vendor development strategies.
  • Works with the Operations Manager on detailed production planning for all machine and custom overhead systems build.
  • Pregis Tulsa Plant liaison between the Tulsa Plant and Europe/United Kingdom Plants on equipment needs.
  • Manages Buyers by contacting vendors for "budgetary pricing" for specialty equipment and materials within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Confers with production supervision to resolve problems affecting production schedules.
  • Ensures that all contact administration procedures are followed and executed accurately and professionally.
  • Owns, develops, and directs all process SOP's for SAP SD, MM, PP systems.

  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the team during shift transition.
  • Must have experience and extensive knowledge in SAP SD ATP, Independent requirements planning, Capacity planning and SAP material requirement planning.
  • Prior experience as a SIOP Supply Side Coordinator at the SKU level.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Master Planning and Scheduling Strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent required. Some college with relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years' work experience required.
