Buy and develop product assortment and merchandise point of view, ensuring that the collection is compelling, commercially viable, and supports overall business objectives.
In collaboration with planning, drive seasonal strategies and financial plans; make monthly financial projections.
Ensure the success of the division by meeting sales, gross margin, and inventory goals.
Review and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy for strategic decisions.
Analyze class and vendor performance, identifying product opportunities, trends, and offerings that will impact the business and provide results.
Optimize buying by store in order to maximize opportunities by market and follow up with appropriate allocation.
Assist in the development of associate and/or assistant buyers as well as merchandise assistants.
Qualifications:
High School diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
Must have strong retail math skills.
Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Strong presentation, listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Proven track record of achieving results and exceeding expectations, with examples to substantiate.
High level of business acumen and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Strategic thought, leadership, cross-functional team collaboration, and influence.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
5+ years of buying experience are required, preferably in a luxury retail environment.
Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods of sitting required the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel.
