The Quality Technician is responsible to monitor product quality by collecting samples in-process and performing various inspections and tests to ensure products conform to specifications. Adheres to EHS policies, procedures, and regulations at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shift: 11 pm - 7 am
Ensure compliance to all safety policies and procedures.
Monitor product quality by collecting samples in-process and performing various inspections and tests to ensure products conform to specifications.
Test raw materials for adherence to material specifications. This includes reviewing and maintaining supplier certificates of analysis (COA's).
Record and analyze data from product inspection, material testing, and special runs. This includes maintaining records and sample retains.
Audit and inspect finished goods as required to assures the quality of outgoing product.
Support activities required to maintain the quality system. This includes, but is not limited to calibration of test equipment, writing/reviewing test procedures, filing claims with suppliers for nonconforming materials, and evaluating nonconforming finished product.
Perform inspection/testing for special projects, assist in problem-solving quality issues, and obtain color samples for customers and other departments.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year technical degree with previous quality assurance or technical work experience within a manufacturing facility is preferred. Desire and ability to grow into positions of greater responsibility will also be evaluated.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft application: Outlook Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is desired.
Experience working with various lab instrumentation and measuring tools.
Excellent color perception is required, as the job demands close visual color observations and the ability to make critical color judgment calls.
Position requires learning specifications and production methods for extrusion, laminating, painting, coating, and finishing applications.
The volume of work requires the handling of multiple tasks on multiple products.
Position requires the ability to perform all audits, testing and quality checks on various products.
This position may require a minimal amount of travel
Wearing of high visibility clothing, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection or other PPE required.
