Job Description

  • Assess the current operational capabilities of the insurance program operation in collaboration with the Head of Programs and the key operations executives within the group.
  • Develop a short, medium and long term strategy to fortify these capabilities to coincide with the growth expectations of the unit.
  • Assume responsibility for the execution of this strategy, in conjunction with key support units within the broader organization; ensure that progress is made in a timely manner; make adjustments as needed; follow each stage through to completion; and continuously monitor our entire operational processes to make certain they meet or exceed our needs.
  • Work with the underwriting team to ensure that their support needs are anticipated and met.
  • Communicate with our external program insurance partners to facilitate their support and participation in achieving our operational goals.
  • Ad hoc reports and projects
  • Manage other internal projects through coordination across departments (underwriting, claims, actuarial and accounting).
Qualifications

About you:
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Prior experience to include direct oversight and strong familiarity of two or more aspects of insurance company operational support functions: accounting, compliance, information technology and underwriting support.
  • Relevant experience building or supporting an insurance programs operation is desirable.
  • Must have internal client relationship and service delivery focus with the ability to collaborate across disciplines within a global corporate infrastructure.
  • BA/BS or equivalent education or experience in a business discipline. MBA and/or insurance industry designations (e.g., ARE, ARM, CPCU, etc.) is preferred.
  • Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills.
