Pay Range

$70,600.00-$97,000.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The purpose of the Architecture and Design Specification Representative's role is to provide technical assistance and influence design professionals of all types (i.e. roof consultants, architects, engineers) to use Johns Manville's Roofing Solutions. The Architecture and Design Specification Representative will be responsible for interacting with design professionals to provide technical assistance regarding roofing solutions, providing design professionals with education to promote Johns Manville's technical expertise, and strategically target specifying design firms to rewrite master specifications to position Johns Manville in the specifications. The Architecture and Design Specification Representative will also be responsible for providing market data analysis to better understand Johns Manville's position within the specification community, and develop project leads for our sales team and roofing contractors.

This position is based out of Littleton, CO but we do have a flexible work arrangement which, by way of example, an employee's work week may include both some days at the employee's assigned company work location and some workdays performed remotely from the employee's home. The schedule of remote work will be based on business and work needs as determined by management. Currently, this position requires work at the JM Technical Center in Littleton, CO and is not fully remote.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Provide project technical assistance to both external and internal customer bases via front end project assistance and reactive activities:
  • Specification review
  • Specification writing
  • Technical review
  • System selection review and Johns Manville alignment
  • Product substitution requests during bidding
  • Analyze project specifications to qualify project opportunities in target markets and develop project leads for our approved contractors
  • Utilization of CRM to manage activities, project opportunities and customer leads
  • Analyze Johns Manville's specification position within a given market and work closely with Regional Sales, Preferred Accounts, and Product Management to develop corresponding specification strategy to increase project opportunities
  • Participation and continued education within the design professional and commercial roofing industry to grow skillset and to ensure that Johns Manville technical documents and educational resources remain relevant to these communities
  • Partner with internal teams (sales, product management, marketing, etc.) to provide voice of customer and market data analysis, ensuring that our tools and resources remain current
  • May be required to perform related duties as required

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred or three years of professional experience in engineering or architectural fundamentals
  • Roofing product and installation technical knowledge (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and construction process (CDT Certification preferred)
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents
  • Ability to evaluate Johns Manville and competitor product lines including physical properties and characteristics
  • Ability to understand customer needs and develop custom solutions for unique roofing situations
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
